Looking for something a little different to do this weekend? Pack up the kids and head to Country Heritage Park for some good old-fashioned fun! Located at 8560 Tremaine Road in Milton, Country Heritage Park is open every weekend during July and August from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This 80-acre natural paradise nestled against the Niagara Escarpment features over 30 historical exhibits, costumed interpreters, farm animals, a vast collection of antique tractors, steam engines and farm equipment and more than 20,000 fascinating artifacts.
Some of the buildings on site include the Mayne Corners United Church (built in 1876 in Perth, Ontario), the Nassagaweya Schoolhouse (built in 1886), the Massey Harris Building (it’s filled with antique tractors, stripper harvesters, plows and other equipment) and the hexagon-shaped Troyer-Fraser Barn (built in the late 19th century). Children and adults alike will be fascinated by the exhibits in the Apple Industry Display and the Dairy Display.
Country Heritage Park also has a number of facilities available for rent for fundraisers, weddings, special events and business meetings. Summer camps for kids are also offered – visit the website at www.countryheritagepark.com for more info.
