Summer is definitely one of the best seasons to enjoy the natural beauty of Royal Botanical Gardens. With all areas of the Gardens open, roses in full bloom and wildlife thriving, it’s the perfect spot for an outing with the whole family.
This summer, RBG has some great events planned so mark your calendars and don’t miss out on the fun.
Until July 26, it’s all about celebrating the Americas and the Caribbean! The Panorama festival will promote healthy active living while showcasing plants, natural landscapes, food, environmental art and music of these lively regions. Kids will love the Panorama Outdoor Challenge Obstacle Course and don’t miss the special menu items, cooking demonstrations and delicious workshops by RBG chefs!
During the month of July, rose lovers will be in their glory touring RBG’s two acres of fragrant blooms in colours ranging from pure white to yellows, apricots, oranges, pinks, corals and reds. There will also be activities for kids. Tour the gardens under the moonlight, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a complimentary beverage and relaxing music.
Every Tuesday at 6 p,m. until August 11, RBG shows their western side! Country Tuesdays will feature inspiring performances from talented Canadian artists, so grab a cold drink, enjoy some delicious BBQ and dance the night away!
Until September 19, Red Hot Jazz and Cool Blues Wednesdays will take over Hendrie Park at 6 p.m. Melissa Bell, Ghost Town Blues Band and Jack de Keyzer are just a few of the accomplished musicians set to take the stage this summer – tickets are available in advance online. Dinner and drinks will also be available.
On August 1, 2 and 3 all gnomes, fairies, pixies and sprites are invited to RBG! Kids can dress up as their favourite fairytale character for this popular annual event that offers face painting, story telling, educational activities and more.
