The whole city will be bathed in lights this month. Toronto is putting on a great display for Christmas 2017, but don’t forget the local holiday displays in parks, businesses and homes throughout the GTA.
Immerse yourself in the festive spirit; the Toronto Christmas Market in the Distillery Historic District runs from Nov. 16 to Dec. 23. And don’t miss the Holiday Fair at Nathan Phillips Square, on from Dec. 1 to 23.
For beautiful views of lights reflecting on water, take a walk around the Spectacle of Lights on Toronto’s Waterfront. The brilliant animated installation at the Toronto Music Garden includes more than 39,000 LED bulbs.
Keep walking and you’ll see more festive displays at the nearby Westin Hotel, the Fire Hall and the Amsterdam Bridge at Harbourfront Centre.
Don’t miss the downtown holiday window displays, including the iconic storefront windows at The Bay and the more recent – and also fabulous – display at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Moving farther north, Bloor-Yorkville’s Holiday Magic is a highlight. It runs until Dec. 31 and will include 25 participating locations with animated windows, light displays and holiday decorations.
And while you’re in the neighbourhood, check out The Gardiner Museum’s annual 12 Trees of Christmas exhibition. The exhibit is on from Nov. 17 to Jan. 7.
Fittingly, this year’s theme will be Let There Be Light
