Did you research and learn as much as possible about the builders?

  • Have you seen other projects completed by this developer-builder?

Was their project completed on time?

Did buyers receive what was promised in the contract upon completion?

Did the builder timely rectify all deficiencies?

 

  • Do you have the right to sell the apartment/documents for the apartment before its occupancy or final closing?

Construction of multi-family homes can take several years. By the time it is completed, your circumstances may change. Initially, you may have planned to move into the apartment, but for some reason, you may need to sell your agreement to someone else before closing.

And it's better to include this right in the contract from the start.

  • Check for additional expenses.

Last but not least, you will need to check for additional fees. These additional fees are usually mentioned in your agreement. Make sure you understand the approximate amount involved before signing the contract.
