The highest sales result on record was recorded by the Toronto Real Estate Board’s (TREB) MLS system in April of 2015, with 11,303 properties changing hands. This represents a 17 percent increase in sales compared to April 2014.
While sales increased strongly on a year-over-year basis, new listings were up over the same period by a more moderate five per cent. There were 18,117 properties listed for sale in April 2015.
The overall average selling price, which accounts for all homes reported sold by GTA realtors in April 2015, was up by 10 percent year-over-year to $635,932.
Once again, the average sales price of a detached home in the 416 area code surpassed the million-dollar mark, at $ 1,056,114. This represents an increase of 9 percent over April 2014.
